Increase revenue through the right customer approach
05 February 2019The 5 online trends of 2019. Achieve more revenue through Voice Search, Chatbox, Video, Mobile First, and Micro Moments.
1. Voice Search - talking to Google
A quarter of Americans have a Google Home or Alexa at home, and this trend is naturally coming our way as well. The number of spoken search queries will increase. More and more people use virtual assistants Siri and GoogleNow to get answers to their questions.
SEO is no longer just about keywords; they are being replaced by spoken language. This will also affect page optimizations, which are often optimized for a single word.
Is your website already set up for this? And is your workplace ready for this?

2. Chatboxes have great potential!
Chat windows in the bottom right of websites asking if you need help. Are you seeing them more often too? Customers expect an increasingly faster response; visitors are becoming more impatient. This way, you can attend to them 24 hours a day!
Well-trained chatbots are of great value, both for visitors and for website owners. They can recommend products, answer questions automatically, and be used for collecting information.
Impersonal? It doesn't have to be; chatbots can apply personalization and thus ensure an optimal customer experience.

3. Video everywhere
Videos are used to improve your product or brand, to create leads and fans, and especially to visualize your story. Video has been appearing in trends for several years and is still growing. We are all watching more video. Watching a manual in a video is easier than reading it on a page. A product purchase often happens after watching a video from the brand or product.
Just making a video without thinking about what it should deliver is simply not possible anymore in 2019. Are you already using an influencer?
4. Mobile first
Another trend seen for years. The mobile phone is the primary device where content is read (it used to be your PC). Mobile-first indexing means Google first checks if your website is optimally suited for mobile (responsive, load time) and will then determine your position.

5. Micro moments
150 times online per day! We are often online, in brief moments each time. Quickly searching for something, buying something, checking if there's something to do nearby, viewing your route, looking up a phone number, learning something quickly. These are small moments throughout the day where we move to action faster and faster.
Being in the right place at the right time with attractive content. We are constantly bombarded with advertisements, offers, and push notifications and can no longer process this effectively.
It is increasingly difficult to attract attention from the right target audience. That is why micro-moments marketing exists. People decide immediately, giving you just a few seconds to grab their attention. Micro-moments work because you can provide exactly the information visitors need at that precise moment.
