Why did you choose ICT?

"The millennium bug was coming and would cause problems after the year 2000 (because January 1, 2000 is equal to January 1, 1900: 01-01-00). There was a lot of demand for ICT professionals at that time, so it seemed smart to me, besides that I also found it very interesting. Moreover, I was busy with my computer every day, (online) gaming."

How long have you been working in ICT?

"Since 1998! My first job was a combined role as network administrator, system administrator and helpdesk employee. For four years ICT questions from colleagues, replacing printer toners, adding memory modules to slow computers and installing workstations were my daily tasks."

Have you always worked in ICT?

"No, I worked for a while as a graphic designer. I enjoy being creative, drawing, painting, designing clothes, making clothes and wanted a creative profession and became a graphic designer at a printing company. After a few years I missed “my” ICT and went to work at a multimedia agency where I could combine creativity and technology. I made computer games (2D) and websites (then still the digital brochure online) and became a sparring partner for entrepreneurs about the possibilities of effectively and creatively using the web to achieve business goals."

Why and when did you join Infracom?

"When Infracom took over the internet agency where I worked in 2015, I joined. My work still consists of creatively and effectively using “online” and I advise customers about the possibilities of websites, webshops, and web applications."

"Web applications are currently very popular. Companies are working on simplifying and digitizing processes to make work more enjoyable. By using ICT smartly they save time and our customers have more attention for their customers. In fact, we contribute to their success in this way."

"In addition, I am involved in marketing for our company and am responsible for online and offline (marketing) communication. That is very broad, from writing blogs and news articles, guarding the corporate identity, to devising commercial actions. I really enjoy the diversity of my job, creativity, technology and sparring with customers."
 

Would you like to share something else so readers get to know you better?

"I am chairman of the Commercial Club in Emmen, where we inspire entrepreneurs in the region. I love music and am a board member of Stichting REUR where we organize the Drèents Song Festival. I love sports! If I have time (and it is allowed) I go to Thai boxing, Cross Fit, Bodyform or Core circuit. At the moment I am forced to do (home) pilates and running. In better weather I enjoy golfing and next year I really want to snowboard again! And I love dancing! As soon as we are all vaccinated, I will go to a festival with my friends!"
