Data integrity, do you trust your own data?

23 May 2023

If you want to use the data you collect to work smarter, you must be able to assume that the data is reliable. How reliable is your information?

Data integrity, do you trust your own data?

What is data integrity?

Data integrity is about preserving and protecting data and preventing data from being unintentionally altered. Data integrity is becoming increasingly important given the growing amount of data in organizations.

Data integrity threats

Not only duplicate data can cause inconsistency. Broken hardware, human errors, power surges, power outages, dust, heat, poor security (cybercrime) can unintentionally change data. The data is no longer integral.

Ensure good data security!

Take sufficient measures to secure your data. Think of two-factor authentication, monitoring, firewalls, well-managed backups. Is your data stored in the Netherlands (so you are subject to Dutch legislation)? Is your ICT company ISO 27001 certified?
