3G is stopping!

08 March 2022

As of March 31, KPN will permanently shut down the 3G network because it is being used less and less. Do you have an older phone or tablet that uses 3G? Then your device will fall back to the 2G network. Falling back to the 2G network means slower internet, reduced call quality, and no longer being able to call and use the internet simultaneously.

Do you have a 4G or maybe already a 5G phone? Then shutting down the 3G network has no consequences.

3G is stopping!

Do you still use 3G?

You may not know whether you are currently using 3G. It may be that your phone is still a 3G device without you realizing it. In that case, it is best to switch to another network or purchase a new device if your phone does not support 4G.

What can you do to keep calling properly?

Set your phone to 4G or replace your SIM card.

KPN has developed a tool for changing the settings that allows you to set your device's network mode step by step: Adjust settings - Set network mode to automatic.

And there is also a special tool to activate 4G on your device.

If you can't figure it out and you have a device or subscription with Infracom, you can always contact our support department. We are happy to help!
