Work and Private Life on the Same Phone?

29 November 2022

You want to be reachable anytime, anywhere. That’s possible! But do you want to be reachable for everyone at all times?

Work and private life are increasingly intertwined—often fine, but sometimes you want to separate them. That’s possible too!

Work and Private Life on the Same Phone?

One Phone for Work and Private Life

With a second number on the same mobile phone, you can separate work and private life. You choose when to read certain messages and which number to allow through. There are several options, with Hipper+ offering the most control over your availability.

  1. Hipper+ App

When calling with Hosted VoIP, you can use two numbers via the Hipper+ app. Your ICT provider can set this up for you. You control your own availability. Features include:

    • For landline and mobile numbers
    • Forwarding options (forward all, forward to landline or mobile, forward mobile only, forward to group)
    • Choose outgoing number: landline, mobile, or anonymous
    • Set voicemail (busy, no answer, after number of rings)
    • Email notification of voicemail
  2. Dual SIM – Two SIM Cards

Buy a phone that supports dual SIM—two SIM cards. You’re reachable on two mobile numbers and can switch between them. You can also temporarily disable one SIM, for example to avoid business calls on weekends.

  3. E-SIM – Embedded SIM Card

An e-SIM is a chip embedded directly in the smartphone. No plastic SIM needed. You can use an e-SIM alongside a physical SIM, allowing two numbers on one device. Not all phones support this yet.
