Google Analytics 4 replaces Universal Analytics
24 June 2024Google Analytics 4 is the successor to Universal Analytics. Since July 1, 2023, the old version of Analytics no longer processes new data. Although most people already know this, we want to emphasize one last time that starting July 1, 2024, all historical data from Google Universal Analytics will also be deleted.
What has happened so far:
- Since March 2023, all Google Analytics 4 properties have been created if you hadn’t done so manually. More information
- Since July 1, 2023, you no longer see new hits in Standard Universal Analytics.
- Until July 1, 2024, you still have access to previously processed data.
What’s happening now
Starting July 1, 2024: you will no longer have access to Universal Analytics properties or the API, and all data will be deleted by Google. If you haven’t done so yet and want to preserve previous measurements, make sure to export your previously processed data.
