A Low-Maintenance Website

The old website was outdated and difficult to maintain, which made it harder to be found in search engines. The new website is more user-friendly and easier to manage. Cambo wanted a fresh, new, and effective website where all content could be easily managed in-house.

A Website to Attract and Inform End Users

Cambo – established in 1946 – is a manufacturer of professional photographic equipment. In Kampen, the company produces high-quality cameras, studio stands, and equipment for digitizing collections. In this market, Cambo is one of the few European companies that still manages the entire process, from design to finished product, in-house.

How the Website Was Created

The website development process consisted of three steps: functional design, web design, and actual development.
 

1. Functional Design
   Before we actually started developing the new website, we first created a detailed functional design. This document described how the website and all modules would work, including all buttons, fields, and backend screens. This design was reviewed and refined until everything was perfect and we were ready for the next step.
2. Web Design
   Next, we collaborated with Opmerkzaam to create the new design for the website. They ensured the site conveyed the right atmosphere and appearance. The web pages were designed so that we could easily add new elements later without affecting the look and feel. The flexible web design automatically adapts to different screen sizes, whether viewed on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone.
3. Development
   With the approved design in hand, our developers began building the website. We programmed all the desired applications and functionalities, including the implementation of the user-friendly CMS Live as the management environment.
4. Testing
   The testing phase is an important part of the process. During this stage, the website is tested in different browsers and on various devices by multiple users. Any errors are identified and corrected. Once the technical development is complete, the real work begins—populating the website. While some of the old content could be imported, most of the material was updated by Cambo themselves. A well-filled website provides a clear picture of the final result, and we are particularly proud of that.

Dealer Login (Extranet)

An important feature of Cambo’s new website is the dealer login, with the following characteristics:

• This is a secure environment where dealers, distributors, and press have access to information and files not available to the public, such as price lists, product photos, manuals, and promotional materials.
• This environment is only accessible with a personal username and password.
• In CMS Live, Cambo can create user groups and define which pages and images each group can access.

The dealer login offers a convenient and efficient way to strengthen collaboration between Cambo and its target audiences.

Product Catalogue

With a wide range of products and categories, it was a challenge to display everything clearly for website visitors. But we found a smart solution: the “mega menu.” This allows visitors to see the full product range at a glance, providing effortless and intuitive navigation.
