At Infracom, we are proud of our collaboration with De Groot Diervoeders, a leading company in the animal feed industry. Our goal was to develop an effective and user-friendly webshop, connected to a robust back-office system that would streamline product enrichment and order processing.

Challenge

The existing website and webshop of De Groot Diervoeders were outdated and difficult to manage. This affected not only usability but also search engine optimization and the overall appearance. In addition, there was a need for a system that could be easily integrated with their administration system, Prima, and flexible enough for future expansions, such as a driver app.
 

Solution

Our team proposed developing a new, modern webshop using CMS Live, a user-friendly Content Management System. This system allows De Groot Diervoeders to easily maintain web pages and add unlimited subpages. The webshop is automatically populated with product information from the back-office system, Mijn Business, which in turn receives data from Prima.
 

Implementation

We started with an approved design for the desktop version of the website, which we transformed into a functional webshop with the desired applications and functionalities. The menu structure and sub-items are manageable via the CMS, and there is an account menu for customer-specific information. For product display, we created custom fields such as "Popular" and "New," and filters for category, price, attributes, and brand.
 

Functionalities

The webshop includes extensive functionalities, including a shopping cart, checkout, and a personal account area. Customers can easily order products via the webshop, with options for upselling and cross-selling. Each order is automatically processed in Mijn Business and then in Prima, ensuring efficient order handling.
 

Results

The new webshop of De Groot Diervoeders not only provides an improved user experience but also seamless integration with the administration system. This makes it possible to enrich products with additional information such as images, categories, tags, various sizes, and efficiently process orders.
 

Future

There are plans to further expand functionalities, such as making invoices visible to customers for easier repeat orders and developing a driver app. This will be elaborated and implemented in a next phase. We continue to support De Groot Diervoeders to ensure that their webshop and back-office system remain up to date with the latest requirements and developments.
